Krithigga K, a FIDE-rated player with a peak rating of 2066, is an accomplished chess player and coach who plays a key role in the day-to-day development of students at T Nagar Chess Academy under the guidance of A. L. Kasi. A medalist at the Asian University Women’s Chess Championship and a multiple-time winner at the All India Inter-University and SGFI School Championships, she combines competitive experience with a student-focused coaching approach. Specializing in opening preparation, strategic planning, and endgame technique, Krithigga is committed to nurturing confident, creative, and disciplined players while carrying forward the academy’s tradition of producing champions.

A. L. Kasi, Founder and Chief Mentor of T Nagar Chess Academy, is one of the pioneers of organized chess coaching in India. A six-time All India Civil Services Chess Champion and a 24-time Indian Postal Chess Champion, he has dedicated decades to developing chess talent at every level. Under his guidance, T Nagar Chess Academy has produced numerous Grandmasters, International Masters, Asian Champions, National Champions, and international medal winners. Today, he continues to shape the next generation of champions while mentoring and guiding the academy’s coaching team, ensuring that his vision and legacy continue to inspire young players to achieve excellence in chess.

Balasubramanian R, is a highly experienced Developmental Instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience, having trained numerous children throughout his career. As a passionate educator, he fully engages his students through interactive and enjoyable methods that make learning chess both fun and effective. His goal is to elevate children in the world of chess, helping them unlock their creativity, realize their potential, and express their originality. Balasubramanian’s dedication to nurturing young minds has made him a valuable mentor for aspiring chess players.

Ravi Kumar G, is a dedicated and highly approachable coach, known for his friendly demeanor with kids and his unwavering commitment to their growth. He is willing to sit for hours, ensuring each student grasps the nuances of the game. In 2002, he introduced the Woodpecker Method at our academy, a teaching approach that has since played a key role in developing many chess champions. With over two decades of experience, Ravi Kumar now oversees the Aminjikarai branch, where his passion and expertise continue to inspire and guide the next generation of talented players.

Aboorva S, is one of the most dedicated coaches that TCA has ever seen. Her exceptional ability to create rapid growth for students, taking them from beginners to intermediate players in a very short period, sets her apart. Aboorva’s coaching style is highly effective, ensuring that kids not only improve quickly but also enjoy the learning process. Her friendly and supportive approach has made her a favorite among the students, who thrive under her guidance and make significant strides in their chess development.
Sriram S
Sriram Suresh is a highly dedicated coach with a FIDE rating of 1800, who has been coaching since 2022. His notable achievements include winning the Chennai Open C Category International Open Tournament and securing 3rd prize in the Under-14 State Championship. Sriram’s coaching style is highly effective, particularly with younger students, where his friendly and approachable nature helps them improve quickly. His commitment to his students’ growth, coupled with his own competitive success, makes him an invaluable coach who fosters both skill development and a love for the game in his students.
Krishna K R
Krishna K R is a polite and dedicated coach who takes online chess classes, bringing his passion for the game to students from all over. With a FIDE rating of 1786, he has made significant achievements in his chess career, including representing Tamil Nadu at the SGFI Nationals, where he won a silver medal, and securing the U-15 Tiruvallur District Championship. His calm and approachable nature, combined with his commitment to his students’ growth, ensures a positive learning environment, helping them progress steadily in their chess journey.
Kruthika K R
Kruthika K R is a dedicated online chess coach with a FIDE rating of 1669 and a strong track record as a national-level chess player. She has consistently performed well in the Tamil Nadu State Championships, securing 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th places, which led to her selection for Nationals. Additionally, she has won numerous titles in district events. Kruthika’s deep understanding of the game, combined with her patient and supportive teaching style, makes her an excellent mentor, helping her students grow and excel in chess.
